Project Background: Connected at the Exhibition, Laying the Foundation for Cooperation

In March 2024, at the Automechanika Dubai (Dubai International Automotive Parts Exhibition), the engine cylinder heads, crankshafts and other exhibits of Henan Gaohexin Precision Casting Co., Ltd. attracted the attention of El-Masry Auto Parts, a well-known Egyptian automotive parts distributor, thanks to their high-precision craftsmanship and compatibility with multi-brand engines. Having been deeply engaged in the Egyptian market for 12 years, the client’s core business is to provide core engine components for local vehicle manufacturers and maintenance markets. Previously, it had long relied on European suppliers, but due to high procurement costs and long delivery cycles, it was seeking a cost-effective alternative partner.

At the exhibition site, Mr. Mohamed, the client’s purchasing manager, consulted in detail about the material standards, quality control processes and customized adaptation capabilities of the cylinder heads. The Gaohexin team initially dispelled the client’s quality concerns about “non-European suppliers” through physical demonstrations and the display of past cooperation case manuals. After the exhibition, the two parties maintained online communication 1-2 times a week. The client successively put forward requirements such as “heat resistance optimization for Egypt’s tropical climate” and “product adjustments in line with local emission regulations”. The Gaohexin team output targeted technical solutions and sample test data, gradually establishing trust, and the client expressed the willingness to conduct an on-site inspection of the factory.

Production Line Visit: Witnessing Production Capacity and Precision

In the casting workshop, the client focused on inspecting the operation of the 4 integrated casting production lines. The 4 lines can be flexibly allocated to fully meet its needs, and 20% of flexible production capacity is reserved to cope with order fluctuations.

Entering the processing workshop, the Haas (U.S.) machining centers were processing cylinder heads adapted to a certain mainstream vehicle model in Egypt. The operators demonstrated on-site hole position tolerance testing and opened the production traceability system, allowing the client to clearly check the raw material source, processing procedure time and quality inspection records of this batch of products.

In-depth Discussion: Resolving Concerns and Finalizing the Plan

After the visit, the two parties held a 2-hour special discussion. The client put forward two core concerns: first, the heat resistance stability of the cylinder heads in the tropical climate; second, the delivery cycle of subsequent customized products. Gaohexin promised that the delivery cycle for conventional products is 15 days, and the maximum delivery cycle for customized products is 45 days, which is 30% shorter than that of the client’s existing suppliers.

Finally, the two parties reached an agreement on the procurement plan of “12,000 cylinder heads (including 3 customized models) + 5,000 crankshafts”, with a total order value of $300,000. A procurement contract was signed on the spot, and it was agreed that the first batch of 3,000 cylinder heads would be delivered by the end of June.

Rapid Order Implementation

After the contract was signed, Gaohexin immediately started production and gave priority to allocating production lines to ensure this order. The first batch of 3,000 cylinder heads completed production and quality inspection on June 25, and were shipped by sea through Egypt’s Alexandria Port, 5 days ahead of the agreed time. After receiving the goods, the client feedbacked that “the product appearance and precision fully meet the requirements, and there is no non-conforming product”.

Finalization of Long-term Cooperation

Based on the smooth performance of the first order, the client communicated with Gaohexin again through an online meeting in July, planning to increase the annual cylinder head procurement volume to 30,000 units, and discussing the joint establishment of an “Egypt Market Exclusive Product R&D Team” to carry out customized development according to the needs of local vehicle models.
